Seafood Indulgence on the Cheap at Boracay’s “D-Talipapa”

Another best way to impress a tourist in Boracay (if the white beach, emerald green waters, and stunning sunset were not enough) –in my opinion and on my case, my husband and his friend –is to bring them to “D-Talipapa”! This is an exceptional dining experience –set around a seafood market, where you get to shop (and haggle almost 50% off the price) for fresh seafood and proceed to any of the small restaurants tucked around to have them cooked at your preferred recipe. This is absolutely a delightful experience especially if you like your seafood very fresh and tasty, not to mention very cheap too!

We are a group of 20 hungry people, squeezed on two long tables, squalling for fresh seafood! And these were all what we’ve binged into our tummies:

2 large/kilos of Groupers (Lapu-Lapu), on sweet & sour recipe

2 large/kilos  of Parrot Fishes, steamed (ginger & sweet soy)

2 kilos of oysters, as is

4 kilos of medium-size shrimps, on garlic

2 kilos of scallops, cooked with garlic & butter

2 kilos of crabs, on chilli sauce recipe

2 kilos of squid, made to calamares

With all of the above seafood bagged, adding the haggles and convincing try-outs for lower prices, we spent US$136! Crazy cheap! The cooking fee is US$2-3 per kilo depending on your choice of recipe.

That dinner made our stomachs gleefully full and walked like geniuses with how we spent our money, feeding 20 people on less than US$200!
