Covid-19 gives so much nostalgia to how normal life was before masks, public distancing, and paranoia for human interactions. It brings me to posting about a holiday over a year ago… wishing for family and friends gatherings and the smell of home… Philippines.
Crystal Beach Resort in San Narciso, Zambales has been a favorite spot since I have first visited in 2010 for a surfing class with my little brother. 9 years after, much has improved around their facilities towards sustainability, and my brother had chosen to wed there with his beautiful half.
We tagged along our two boys (then 2yo and 2mo) to Cebu for my husband’s 70.3 Ironman competition (which he nailed! btw). I did not expect much of Cebu but boy was I surprised with the beauty and loads of fun activities it could offer. At the end of the 9-day hols, regardless of the tired-parents-life, my husband and I just felt revived and astonished with the beauty of Cebu.
Here are some of the best things/experiences to take away with you down memory lane when visiting the beautiful island of Cebu:
Eat Lechon!
Go island hopping in Mactan.
Try Cebu’s SuTuKil (paluto/dampa)
4. Go canyoneering in Badian!
5. See the whalesharks in Oslob.
6. Scuba dive and experience the “sardine run” in Moalboal (Pescador Island).
7. Eat like a local, try Pungko-pungko and eat as much mangoes as you can (summer season).
8. Visit Panagsama Beach for epic sunsets.
9. See Kawasan falls and loads of other beautiful falls around the area.
10. Lie down, grab a beer, and soak up the sun. Bar-none.
