Weekend at The Cove Rotana Resort, RAK

From our usual weekend routine of either lounging like bears at the beach/pool, pigging out at brunch or dinners, and lazing around in front of TV and munchies –my husband decided to get away from Dubai and spend the same routine (haha) in Ras Al Khaimah, at The Cove Rotana.

We’ve been to some hotels in RAK before (ie. Mangrove, Golden Tulip Khatt Springs, and Bin Majid Beach Hotel). But this one easily made it to be our current favorite resort in RAK – based on price (via booking.com), facilities, ambience, and overall experience.

The brunch is OK, average if you have to compare to Dubai brunch. The resort’s Cinnamon restaurant serves international buffet from breakfast, lunch/brunch, and dinner. Pretty wide selection of food (but taste/quality isn’t that exceptional) and they’ve got a neat live band (Latin music) for entertainment. Good points from their brunch: good selection of special cheeses, desserts, and its cheap (AED140/pax on food only plus 10% tax)! By the way, their pool/beach bars serves good selection of drinks, I enjoyed their strawberry mojito mocktail!

6 Years in Dubai #myDubai

I’ve just realized, I’ve been living as an expat in Dubai for six years. I have seen a lot of changes around the city since.

People have their opinions and perception of Dubai –whether a local, expat, or tourist. Like all other cities in the world, Dubai has its good sides and bad sides –and I’m glad that my experiences thus my opinion of Dubai are towards the former. Dubai is a nice place for career growth, making money, meeting people from almost every part of the world, and unpredictably –finding your one true love (*wink).

So for those who plan to come for a visit, work, do business, or whatever you feel proper to do in Dubai –let not prejudices deter you. Here are few images (mostly from my phone/candid) I want to share from Dubai. #myDubai
